Dear Friends and Neighbors,
My name is Brad Roberts and I welcome you to Bäckermann’s Country Market—your cherished Whiteville family market destination, founded in the late 1970s as a Mennonite bakery by Simon Beachy and lovingly expanded by the Yoder family. For nearly 45 years, Bäckermann’s has been built on a foundation of honest hard work, integrity, Christian faith, family, and community service. We uphold core biblical principles—ethics, honesty, and respect—in all relationships with our staff, vendors, and you, our customers. God calls us to steward His blessings wisely, and we are honored to serve Him through this business.
In addition to our handcrafted foods, we champion small businesses by stocking unique, hard-to-find items from home-based makers, plus gluten-free, sugar-free, locally sourced, organic options, and healthy alternatives not found in mainstream stores. Bäckermann’s has long specialized in fresh sourdough breads, pies, bulk pantry staples, a large assortment of jar goods, and bulk foods. We are also known as a charming lunch destination for travelers throughout the
West Tennessee region, featuring a Sandwich, Soup, and Salad Bar Café. Our dining experience includes restful seating indoors and outdoors—and before you leave, the kids will love our Petting Zoo around back.
Earlier this year, Bäckermann’s ownership changed hands from Mark and Martha Yoder to ours. But first, let me tell you a little about who we are. I also own and operate Country View Market in Historic Charlotte, TN. Country View Market, now a sister store to Bäckermann’s, shares our “country market” aesthetic and serves as a popular Nashville-area destination known for a wholesome, family-oriented, Christian-focused atmosphere. We are thrilled that Bäckermann’s will continue to offer everything it is already known for, with thoughtful additions made solely to better serve our customers and bring light and joy into our community.
I have been operating Country View Market for over three years now with the same high moral character and family values that defined the former leadership of Bäckermann’s. I am a devoted husband, father, and man of faith. I have been married for 12 years to my wife, Jenna, and we have three children: Olive, Marigold, and Graham. I am a Dickson County resident and President of our local Rotary Club. What drives me is excellent customer service, a deep
commitment to community, and bringing joy and optimism wherever I go. I take tremendous pride in the wellbeing of our staff, customers, and vendors.
I am on a mission to know the name of every customer in every store we own and to find a way to meet your needs. Partnering with me in this journey is longtime Bäckermann’s employee Michael Creekwood. When we were searching for a General Manager, Michael rose to the occasion and has been a perfect fit for holding down the fort when I am at our other locations. We both strive to deliver great quality at the best prices, with excellent customer satisfaction, making every visit one you’ll want to repeat and recommend. Whenever you are in Bäckermann’s next, say hello to
Michael or myself, shake our hands, and
let us know how we can serve you best. If you don’t see us, feel free to drop us an email at brad@backermanns.com with any thoughts.
Thank you for giving me your time today and for trusting us to help fill your hearts, homes, and
kitchens with food and products that bring families closer together.
With gratitude,
Brad Roberts
